0:00 All right, so we're ready to go ahead and get started with creating our project. 0:05 To do this, I'm gonna go ahead and open up my terminal in the directory 0:08 where we 0:08 want to actually create the project. 0:11 So go ahead and open up wherever you wanna store it. 0:13 And in this project, we're gonna utilize the pnpm package 0:17 manager 0:18 for our dependencies. Of course, you can use whichever package manager you 0:21 prefer. However, I'd highly recommend sticking with pnpm so 0:25 that you can follow along with me. Additionally, it is the fastest package 0:29 manager available, thanks to its amazing dependency cache. 0:33 So I will leave a link in the resources for this lecture where you can 0:37 read how to install pnpm on your machine. 0:42 Personally, I find the simplest way to get it 0:44 installed is simply by using 0:45 npm. So with npm on your machine, you simply have to run npm 0:49 install -g, for global, pnpm@latest to go 0:53 ahead and grab the latest version. 0:55 So now that we have pnpm available, we're gonna use it to set up our project 0:59 using 0:59 Turborepo. Now, we're gonna use Turborepo because it's the 1:02 highest performing build 1:03 system for TypeScript codebases, and it's gonna make dealing with our 1:06 monorepo, 1:08 which is where we're gonna store all of our separate applications into one 1:11 repository. It's gonna provide it with a lot of 1:14 organization and great 1:15 features, including caching, a organized 1:19 layout, and streamlined task orchestration. 1:22 Now, I'll also leave a link below which links to a separate video 1:26 I have, which goes in depth over Turborepo in case 1:29 you wanna learn more. 1:31 We're gonna go over it a bit in this course. 1:33 However, it's not gonna be a deep dive. 1:34 We're just gonna use its features to help us manage our project. 1:39 So ready to go ahead and get started.
